Edward Fuller was from Redenhall near Diss. He took his family to join other separatists in Lincolnshire before escaping to Lieden in Holland. When they had raised sufficient funds, the pilgrims embarked upon a very hazardous and gruelling voyage on the Mayflower from Holland to Plymouth and to Cape Cod. They arrived in the New World too late in the season and before they had time to establish a settlement, many of the pilgrims had to endure a bitter winter aboard ship. Nearly half of them died. Edward Fuller was amongst this who perished. His brother Samuel Fuller survived.
